The goal is to encourage logic education and practice. This
is accomplished primarily through the free daily puzzles and
permitting teachers to copy and use puzzles from books in
their classes, hassle-free and free of charge.
This effort is supported by selling Group Puzzle books
to the general public. The information below is intended to
clarify the details of this goal.
Free stuff:
- Everyone is encouraged to print and work the daily group
puzzles and solutions to practice their own logic
skills free of charge.
- Teachers in grades K-12 are permitted to print and
copy these daily puzzles and solutions for use in their
classrooms free of charge to encourage students to
practice their logic regularly.
- All Group Puzzle eBooks and print books that are
currently available for purchase specify in their
copyright notice that teachers can print and photocopy
the puzzles in the book for use in their classes free of
charge.
- The PDF eBooks available in the book catalog, along side
the print books that are for sale, are distributed for
free in PDF format and are clearly marked as such. Their
copyright notice specifies that these books can be
distributed by email, web pages, or other means, as long
as the book is not modified and it is distributed for free
(i.e. you cannot sell it yourself).
- Each PDF eBook contains only the puzzles and
answer grids; there are no internal links within the file
for navigation and they are suitable primarily for
printing out more than one puzzle at a time. Other
information for the book, such as the step-by-step
solutions for each specific puzzle, instructions for each
puzzle type, and documentation like the general strategy
guide must be accessed from the web-site URL printed in
each specific book. The URL web-links for every book
(including the free books) are also accessible from the
book catalog by title under the heading of 'On-Line
Info.
Things you might think are free, but are not:
- With the exception of the free PDF books which are clearly
marked as such in the copyright section of the book, you cannot
copy and host any of the contents of the
www.grouppuzzles.com web site, including the daily puzzles and
solutions, and the print book solutions.
- The free PDF books are formatted in a manner
suitable for most publishers to go to print so that
people can see exactly what they would receive if they
purchase a similar book. No one, including teachers,
are permitted to submit the free PDF format books to be
printed, bound, and published. Teachers are permitted to print and
copy them for use in their classes; individuals can print them for their
own personal use
